OCNJ Weekly Events: August 26th-September 1st

Will you be down in Ocean City next week (August 26th – September 1st)? If so, have some great news for you! This upcoming week is jam packed with fun activities for the entire family to enjoy! Currently not planning on being here? We think that that should change : from special appearances like Swon Brothers and Josh Garcin, french fry sculpting, and amazing shows, this is a week you definitely don’t want to miss.

MONDAY AUGUST 26th:                                                    

Beach Workout hosted by the Aquatic & Fitness Center:  

Stop on by to the 6th Street Beach to get a little exercise to start your week off right. Hosted by the Aquatic & Fitness Center, you can have a killer workout to whip yourself back into shape one session at a time!

Time: 8:00am-9:00am

TUESDAY AUGUST 27th:

Funtastic Tuesdays: 

Watch Asbury Avenue come to life as you’re greeted by musicians, face painters, balloon sculptures and even a man on stilts! Make sure to shop ‘til you drop with some great entertainment from 10am – 1pm on Asbury Ave.

Mummers Night:

Head on down  to the boardwalk in the evening to see amazing entertainment by the mummers! Watch them strut up and down the boardwalk from 7pm to 9pm in between 6th and 14th streets. 

Beach Walks:

Explore one of Ocean City’s less discovered treasures at the South End of the island at Corson’s Inlet State Park. Bring family and friends to indulge on this heavenly stroll.

Location: 59th St. & Central Ave., (Entrance to Corsons Park) Time: 9am Price: Tickets can be purchased on-site for: Adults $1.00 Children $.50

Fun Runs (Short & Kids Distances):  

Get in a little sprint, jog, or a “fast” walk as some might call it at 6:00pm, Carey Field, 6th & Atlantic Ave. This event is open to all ages and what’s the best part? It’s FREE! Bring a friend and get in shape!

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 28th:

Farmer’s Market:

Shop LOCAL at the Tabernacle Grounds from 8am – 1pm at the farmer’s market! Buy incredible produce from fresh peaches to artisan cuisine. On your way out grab a cup of cold brew from the Drip ‘n’ Scoop stand. Crafters will be in between 5th and 6th streets on Asbury Avenue.

Wacky Wednesday – French Fry Sculpting:

Calling all french fry artists! Get your creative juices pumpin and create a masterpiece with french fries. This contest is free and open to all ages at the Ocean City Music Pier. 

Time: 10:30am 

A Salute to the 100th Anniversary of the American Legion:

The Ocean City POPS are going to be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the American Legion. Sit back and enjoy exciting and thrilling patriotic pieces by Morthon Gould, Aaron Copland and so many more! 

Time: 7:30 at the Ocean City Music Pier

Price: $15/$20 per ticket.

THURSDAY AUGUST 29th:

Market Days:

Family Nights:

Step on down to the boardwalk from 7:30pm to 9:30pm on streets 6th-14th for some great entertainment and games that will be unforgettable memories that will be cherished for a lifetime! Some entertainment that you can see are singers, musicians and even yo-yo contests.  

Historic Inn Tours:

Each tour is different for you to get the maximum knowledge of this beautiful island of Ocean City, NJ. Join a guided tour as you go to four different historic sites on the island, ranging from the Flanders Hotel to even a sight-seeing tour of the historic district. Pick-up is at 7th & Central Ave.

Time: 2pm-4pm

Price: $14 per person

Fun Runs (Long distance): 

Free and fun for all ages, come on down to Carey Field, located at 6th & Atlantic Avenue.

FRIDAY AUGUST 30th:

Swon Brothers and Josh Gracin:

If you like country music, this is definitely not a show you want to miss! The Swon Brothers have been taking the country by storm, from making it to the season finale of “The Voice” in 2013, recieving a nomination for CMA Vocal Duo of the year in 2014, and touring with Carrie Underwood. Josh Garcin’s “I Want To Live,” “Nothin’ To Lose,” “Stay With Me (Brass Bed)” and “We Weren’t Crazy” were all hit songs on the Billboard charts.

Time: 7:30 pm at the Ocean City Music Pier. 

SATURDAY AUGUST 31th:

There are no events planned on Saturday! Don’t fret- it’s the weekend! As of now, the weather calls for low-80’s and bright, sunny, and clear skies! With such perfect beach weather, we hope you have a great day in the surf and sand! 

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 1ST:

A STAR IS BORN AND BEYOND:

A trio of Broadway/cabaret’s greatest voices come together to celebrate the music from three iconic females singers: Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Lady Gaga. They will be performing songs from hit movies: A Star is Born featuring The Man That Got Away, Shallow and the Academy Award-winning Evergreen.

Time: 7:30pm at the Ocean City Music Pier

Price: $25/$35
