Frank Theatres (Shore Mall)

First-run movies in a comfortable theater. Classic rainy day activity that works for all ages. Check showtimes ahead.

Movie Marathon at the Rental

Stock up on snacks, streaming services, and settle in for a lazy movie day. Sometimes doing nothing is the best vacation activity.

Boardwalk Shops

The boardwalk is covered in many sections—light rain does not stop shopping. Browse t-shirt shops, candy stores, and souvenir stands.

Asbury Avenue

Downtown shopping with boutiques, gift shops, and local stores. More varied than boardwalk tourist shops.

Shore Mall / Outlets

Indoor shopping with various stores. Tanger Outlets in Atlantic City (20 min) offer serious shopping in any weather.

Museums and Education

Ocean City Historical Museum

Learn about OCNJ’s history, from its Methodist founding to modern resort town. Good for a couple hours.

Wetlands Institute (20 minutes)

Educational center focused on coastal ecosystems. Touch tanks, exhibits, and programs—great for curious kids.

Atlantic City Aquarium

About 25 minutes away, the aquarium features local marine life and hands-on exhibits.

Cooking at the Rental

Rainy days are perfect for leisurely meals. Make a big breakfast, tackle that recipe you have been wanting to try, or spend the afternoon preparing a feast.

Long Lunches

Sit-down restaurants are less rushed on rainy days. Take your time, try a new place, make lunch an event.

Make it a museum day in Philly (70 min). Art Museum, Franklin Institute, or Independence Hall—all indoor options.
