Doo Dah Parade 2016 Ocean City NJ
When: April 16th, 12:00 p.m.
Where: Downtown Asbury Avenue from 6th to 12th Street, the boardwalk from 12th to 9th Street, and the Ocean City Music Pier in Ocean City, N.J.
For Ocean City residents, visitors, and annual vacationers, the Doo Dah Parade is part of the beach town’s unique and whimsical character. Every year, about 500 basset hounds converge on the Ocean City boardwalk celebrating “all things whacky.”
The dog parade starts downtown on Asbury Avenue’s 6th Street, heads south to 14th and makes left turn onto the boardwalk where it starts heading north and stops out front of the Ocean City Music Pier.
As always, Rapid T. Rabbit and other costumed characters will join the parade along with their crew of colorful roller skaters. This year, participating bands include The Pitman Hobo Band, the Atlantic City Bagpipers, Ed Coles Entertainers as well as a Philadelphia Dixieland Band.

When the parade ends at the Music Pier, another fun event begins to conclude the Doo Dah Parade. The annual PieAsco event will have spectators in grandstands “smoosh” each other in the face with shaving cream pies. The event tributes Soup Sales, a comedian and T.V. personality from the 1960s who became popular for his pie-throwing routine.
All are welcome to watch or be a part of this fun and whacky annual Ocean City tradition. If you want to enter the parade as an individual, costumed character, or a brigade, call 609-399-6111 or go to the Ocean City City Hall Information Center at 9th Street and Asbury Avenue (9th Street entrance).
